PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an after image generating when putting a liquid crystal display device, manufactured by using a substrate formed with protrusions for alignment control by using a negative type photosensitive resin composition, in the state of applying a voltage over a long time. SOLUTION: The substrate having at least the protrusions 13, 14 for alignment control holds liquid crystal between a counter substrate and the same to constitute a liquid crystal display device, wherein the protrusions 13, 14 for alignment control are made of the negative type photosensitive resin composition containing a resin having at least phenolic hydroxide group. Further, by using a negative type resist containing a resin having one or more photo-crosslinking functional groups selected from among styryl pyridinium group and styryl quinolium group in one part of side chains of the resin having phenolic hydroxide group, a high-sensitivity negative type photosensitive resin composition may be preferably obtained without injuring electric characteristics.
