PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pixel circuit capable of preventing abnormal light emission caused by a through current.

SOLUTION: A pixel circuit 2 is provided with a threshold voltage correction means and a through current cutoff means. The threshold voltage correction means is connected to a drive transistor Tr2 and a holding capacity Cs2 and is operated before a light emission period and detects a threshold voltage of the drive transistor Tr2 to holds the threshold voltage in the holding capacity Cs2 as a correction amount beforehand. A through current flows to the drive transistor Tr2 during operation of the threshold voltage correction means. The through current cutoff means is connected to the drive transistor Tr2 and a light emitting element EL and cuts off at least a part of the through current flowing from the drive transistor Tr2 to the light emitting element EL to suppress abnormal light emission of the light emitting element EL during periods other than the light emission period.
