PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress side cross talks in a simple configuration. SOLUTION: This electro-optical device has pixels arranged corresponding to the cross points of the scanning lines and data lines. The scanning line drive circuit sequentially picks up scanning lines and applies selection voltages. The data line drive circuit makes both end-driving to apply a lighting voltage to the data line in odd-numbered columns, for the period long enough to match the pixel gradation within the period consisting of the period which includes the application start point and the period which includes its end point in the period the selection voltage is applied to the scanning line. On the other hand, it makes center driving to apply a lighting voltage to the data line of even number columns, for the period long enough to match the pixel gradation within the remaining period excluding the period which includes the application start point and the period which includes its end point in the period the selection voltage is applied to the scanning line, and a non-lighting voltage for the remaining period.
