<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high luminance and long service life by suppressing elevation of tube wall temperature of a glass tube constituting a fluorescence discharge tube device. <P>SOLUTION: This fluorescence discharge tube device is provided with a fluorescence discharge tube (1), a bracket (15) holding the fluorescence discharge tube (1), and a holder (21) housing the fluorescence discharge tube (1) and the bracket (15). The bracket (15) is formed of a thermally conductive material and has a cutout part (16) supporting an intermediate part (2b) of a bulb (2). The intermediate part (2b) of the bulb (2) contacts an inner wall (16a) of the cutout part (16) of the bracket (15) to allow heat conduction and the bracket (15) contacts the holder (21) formed of the thermally conductive material to allow heat conduction.
