摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid polymer electrolyte membrane electrode junction body and a solid polymer fuel cell, having excellent dimensional stability and mechanical strength, and having high durability in time of power generation. <P>SOLUTION: This solid polymer electrolyte membrane electrode junction body for the fuel cell comprises: a solid polymer electrolyte membrane 111; and an electrode 137 having catalyst layers 127, 128 including a catalyst disposed on both the faces of the solid polymer electrolyte membrane 111, and gas diffusion layers 133, 134 supporting the catalyst layers 127, 128 inside a peripheral part. The solid polymer electrolyte membrane 111 has: an area 1 having proton electroconductivity in the whole thickness direction of the membrane; and an area 2 positioned in a peripheral part of the area 1, and disposed with a holeless sheet not to have the proton electroconductivity in the whole thickness direction of the film.
