PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a external corner structure, and a external corner member therefor, easy in construction of an external facing material, dispensing with a backup material, and superior in thermal insulation performance. SOLUTION: Recessed strips 17 and 18 extending in the longitudinal direction of the external corner member 10, are respectively arranged in a crossing side part of a first surface 11 and a second surface 12 of the external corner member 10 and a crossing side part of a third surface 13 and a fourth surface 14. A sealing material non-adhering layer composed of a fluororesin is formed on retreat surfaces 17a and 18a of the recessed strips 17 and 18. The external corner member 10 is arranged along the corner edge on the external corner side of a column 1, and is fastened by a nail or a machine screw by applying overhang pieces 15 and 16 to both side surfaces for sandwiching the external corner of the column 1.
