The coupling device has a tractor saddle pivot (5) mounted on the semi-trailer (2) and held in a holder (4) allowing rotation between the tractor and trailer. The relative position of the trailer can be adjusted in dependence on a steering angle. The relative position of the trailer can be changed by adjusting the pivot (5) on the trailer. The adjustment can be through a setting member which can be mechanically, hydraulically, electrically and/or pneumatically operated.
