PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axle box supporting device for a rail car which has a simple structure for fixing a coil spring and for supporting rubber, and enables easy attachment of them. SOLUTION: The coil springs 21, 22 are provided at the top of an axle box body 10, and the supporting rubber 30 is provided to the front and rear parts of the axle box body 10 in the direction of travel of a vehicle. Then a supporting rod 31 is provided to an axial center position of the supporting rubber 30, and the top end part of the supporting rod 31 penetrates a side beam 6. The top end part of the supporting rod 31 projecting from the top face of the side beam 6 is fixed by a nut. When the supporting rod 31 is fixed to the side beam 6, the fastening work of the nut 40 can be conducted at the top surface part of the side beam 6, thus the work can be easily conducted.
