The heating device has electrodes (3a,3b) connected to the alternating current and each two of which form the mutually insulated conductor surfaces (3a,3b) of a capacitor (3). A potential difference can be generated between the electrodes. The conductor surfaces are positioned inside the container and project wholly or partially into the fluid (2) by substantially the same surface proportions or form a part of the inside wall of the containing delimiting the fluid so that substantially the same surface proportions are covered by the fluid. The capacitor(s) can be plate or cylinder capacitors. The capacitors can be fixedly or detachably connected to the container.
