PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in information quality even when a plurality of types of communication information having different priority of communication are used as communication information through radio LAN. SOLUTION: The communication apparatus for radio LAN monitors the length of the idle time of the radio LAN prior to sending a transmission packet, and sends the transmission packet to the radio LAN when the idle time is not less than a predetermined length. The apparatus is provided with a priority determining means 117 for determining whether or not the transmission information of the transmission packet has high priority. The apparatus is also provided with a radio LAN monitoring means 120 for allocating a predetermined value as the set value of the idle time to monitor the radio LAN when the priority determining means determines that the transmission packet is transmission information having low priority, and allocating a value lower than the predetermined value to monitor the radio LAN when the priority determining means determines that the transmission packet is transmission information having high priority.
