A mounting for a thyristor comprises a heatsink base 12 on to which the thyristor 10 is clamped by a clamping structure having a deformable tube 15 pressed down on to the thyristor and deformed by a cup-like cover 21, the pressure exerted by the tube 15 being independent of the extent of its deformation. A terminal 14 leading to the thyristor passes through the mounting, electrical insulation being provided by a nylon cap 20. The clamping of the cover 21 on to tube 15 is provided by bolts 26 which engage threaded holes 27 in the heat sink. The deformation of the tube 15 takes the form of a plurality of circumferentially extending corrugations. |
