The cylinder lock (2) has a rotatable cylindrical core (7) inside an outer casing (4). The lock accepts a flat key with a security pattern in one profiled broad side. The key slides into an aperture (11) in the end of the rotatable cylindrical core. - Pins of different length in the rotatable cylinder have sharp ends (17) engaging the key. There are sloping sliding or engagement surfaces (18) on either side of the sharp ends.
