PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk recording/reproducing device in which noise image is not recorded but a fixed image is recorded, when an input image does not exist at recording time to the optical disk. SOLUTION: When an input image signal becomes unavailable, it is decided by a signal existence/nonexistence deciding means 17 that the input image signal does not exist. In response to this, a switch means 19 is switched to an output side for a flash memory 18. The fixed image data from the flash memory 18 is then sent to an MPEG 2 encoder 7, the compressed fixed image data outputted from the MPEG 2 encoder 7 is recorded on an optical disk 15. The fixed image is, thus recorded on the optical disk instead of the noise image, when the input image signal does not exist. Because of this, the noise image will not be outputted, even if this optical disk 15 is reproduced, and instead of the noise image, a fixed image is outputted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
