<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt threading member having an insertion hole to admit the insertion of an air belt, capable of eliminating a twist of the air belt within the belt insertion hole and allowing the gas to pass smoothly through the air belt near the insertion hole when the air belt is inflated. <P>SOLUTION: The part of the air belt 4 located near a narrow portion 14c of a sack-shaped belt 14 is inserted into a belt insertion hole 12 in a tong 7. The air belt 4 slides in such a way as moving forward and returning freely in the belt insertion hole 12. The body part 12a of the belt insertion hole 12 is in a slit form, the air belt 4 is free of twisting in the area to the belt insertion hole 12. When the gas pressure from an inflator 6 is applied to the narrow portion 14c, a swell-out part 17 swells out to form a gas passage 21, and the gas is introduced even to the shoulder side 14a of the sack-shaped belt 14. Because the swell-out part 17 inflates in such a way as intruding to an additional part 12b of the belt insertion hole 12, the cross-section of the gas passage 21 becomes sufficiently large. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
