PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a raindrop sensor which detects with high sensitivity and accuracy raindrop deposit and temporal variations in the raindrop deposit, and also to provide a means for alarming the raindrop deposit based on output from the sensor. SOLUTION: In the sensor, electrodes shaped as facing horseshoe, etc. are formed on the surface of a conical backing, which measure the variation of electrical characteristics caused by the raindrop deposit to accurately detect initial condition and amount of rainfall. Further, these electrodes, together with both the raindrop-collecting section for collecting raindrop through the conical backing and a cylindrical detecting section stuck to the bottom face of the raindrop collecting section with the facing horseshoe shaped electrodes formed on its surface, more correctly detect initial condition and amount of rainfall by measuring variation of electrical characteristics caused by the raindrop deposit fallen from the raindrop collecting section.
