PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus capable of automatically feed a lubricant to a guide shaft by utilizing an ordinary operation of a carriage. SOLUTION: The recording apparatus is equipped with a carriage 61 carrying a recording head 62 and moving back and forth in the axial line direction by being guided by the guide shaft 51 through bearings 5 and 6, and a capping device 59 moving by linking the movement of the carriage 61 when the carriage 61 moves to a home position.
