PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling a network facsimile apparatus which can significantly reduce the time and efforts for inputting an electronic-mail address. SOLUTION: In the method for controlling the network facsimile apparatus having a function of exchanging data in a LAN and a function of exchanging data via public networks according to facsimile transmission procedure, a means for inputting an electronic-mail address for identifying a user on a LAN is provided, and a domain-name buffer in which history information of a domain name composed of the elements, other than the user name, of the inputted electronic-mail address is stored, is preserved. If an input consisting of a user name and up to a delimiter of the domain name are inputted, the inputted content is stored as an inputted user name. The domain names are sequentially read out from the historical information of the domain names stored in the domain-name buffer, and are displayed for choosing a proper one. The electronic-mail address is formed by sequentially connecting the inputted user name, the delimiter, and the chosen domain name. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
