PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfy various performance such as moldability, economical efficiency, optical characteristics, product strength, or the like, as to a key for a portable information terminal or a key for a portable telephone which are formed by molding a polycarbonate resin having a specific amount of acetone-soluble components and a ductility/brittleness transition temperature. SOLUTION: This key for portable information terminals is formed by molding the polycarbonate resin containing acetone-soluble components of 2 wt% or less as an impurity content, and having a ductility/brittleness transition temperature of 15°C or less. This key for the portable information terminal has high strength, and can be suitably used especially for a key for a portable telephone.
