PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner more compact with higher efficiency than conventional ones. SOLUTION: A heat exchanger is arranged in a front air blowoff direction of a box-like body, and a turbo fan and a fan motor for driving the turbo fan are arranged at the approximately center part of the box-like body at the back, with an air suction port of the turbo fan facing downward. Further, a casing having a mouth ring for the turbo fan is arranged surrounding the turbo fan and the fan motor to attain miniaturization. The box-like body is structured to be openable/closable laterally, downward and backward in the suction direction of air sucked into the turbo fan by the rotation of the turbo fan through the mouth ring of the casing. High efficiency is thereby attained with high air capacity, and the degree of freedom in the installation place as well as miniaturization can be realized. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
