PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner capable of reducing the variation of light quantity distribution occurring with time and suppressing the deterioration in picture quality due to uneven density. SOLUTION: A laser diode 12 has a plurality of (two in this case) light emitting points, the optical scanner 10 adopts a method that a photoreceptor drum 14 is exposed by a plurality of scanning lines. The incident angleθof a light beam LB emitted from the laser diode 12 onto a reflection face 16A continuously varies according to the rotation of a polygon mirror 16. The polygon mirror 16 turns in the direction denoted by an arrow R and the light beam LB is made incident from the direction in which the incident angleθof the light beam LB in one scanning process decreases as the polygon mirror 16 turns.
