PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a thermometer code for supplying several serially connected circuit boards with address signals. SOLUTION: Terminals of circuit board input connectors are connected with the succeeding terminals of circuit board output connectors. The terminals of the circuit board input connectors are connected with a voltage supply through pull-up resistors. The lowest terminal of the output terminals can provide a logic signal opposite to a logic signal supplied from the voltage supply. The address lines of the circuit boards are connected to the terminals of the input connectors. Using this method, the thermometer address code can be supplied to a series of serially connected circuit boards. The thermometer code can be extended by a selected additional device.
