PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endless belt for a belt type continuously variable transmission capable of reducing noise regardless of the change of rotational frequency or speed change ratio of the transmission in consideration of probability of generation of intense noise caused by the change of rotational frequency or speed change ratio of the transmission even though a thickness of piece members for noise reduction is changed at random to reduce noise, in the endless belt for the continuously variable transmission for transmitting torque from a driving-side pulley to a driven-side pulley by pressing the piece members. SOLUTION: In a belt linear traveling part from the driving-side pulley to the driven-side pulley, frequency of occurrence of total thickness of the piece members closely engaged with each other, is dispersed in a prescribed range, or the frequency of occurrence is less than a prescribed limit value.
