<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a safety device for an elevator door capable of detecting only foreign matters without detecting the closing door as a foreign matter when processing images. <P>SOLUTION: The safety device for an elevator door is provided with the elevator door 1 for opening/closing a doorway of an elevator, a foreign matter detecting mark 10 provided in a straight line or a curved line along the elevator door 1 opening/closing direction in an upper surface of a door sill of the elevator door 1, an image pick-up means provided over the elevator door 1 to pick up images of at least a door closing part of the doorway including the foreign matter detecting mark 10, an image processing means 7 for processing a foreign matter output signal when existence of a foreign matter is detected on the basis of the foreign matter detecting mark 10 indicated in an image picked by the image pick-up means 6 in a process of closing the doorway with the elevator door 1, and a door opening/closing control means 8 for controlling to stop elevator door 1 closing operation on the basis of the foreign matter detecting signal from the image processing means 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
