<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming apparatus which can reduce the amount of misregistration associated with the width of printing by each print head. <P>SOLUTION: The variation of a dot position of each print head 12 with respect to a voltage applied to a heater 26 is predetermined, and the voltage applied to each heater 26 is changed by each print head 12 on the basis of these data. This enables the correction of a variation in the output of the heater 26 provided in each print head 12, and enables the printing width of each print head 12 to be corrected in consideration of a coefficient of thermal conductivity of a member for transferring the heat of the heater 26 to the print head 12, so as to reduce the amount of the misregistration associated with the width of printing by each print head 12 with respect to the standard print head 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
