PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive assist device making a driver know an indication change of a traffic signal in front of a driver's own vehicle without imparting discomfort to the driver. SOLUTION: This drive assist device making the driver know the indication change of the traffic signal in front of the own vehicle has: a traffic signal indication detection means detecting indication of the traffic signal in front of the own vehicle; a voice output means outputting notification to the driver by voice when it is detected that the indication of the traffic signal in front of the own vehicle changes to start permission from start non-permission by the traffic signal indication detection means during a stop of the own vehicle; and a rearward vehicle detection means detecting another vehicle within a prescribed range in the rear of the own vehicle. The voice output means does not output the notification when the other vehicle is not detected within the prescribed range in the rear of the own vehicle by the rearward vehicle detection means.
