IMAGE SERIES ACQUISITION METHOD, DEVICE, AND PROGRAM FOR EXECUTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine automatically whether an image series is sufficient for restoration or not, when the image series is taken out of an acquired time series image and a camera motion and a three-dimensional shape are restored.

SOLUTION: An image acquired from a camera is stored in a time series image database part 11. Then, an image series between some frames is acquired by an image series acquisition part 12 from the database part 11. A characteristic point is extracted by a characteristic point extraction part 13 from inside the acquired image series, and the extracted characteristic point is tracked over the frames by a characteristic point tracking processing part 14. Occurrence of the camera motion is detected by a camera motion detection part 15 from image information acquired by tracking, and it is determined whether the number of frames to be used is sufficient for restoring the camera motion and the three-dimensional shape or not from the other characteristic points without being confused by the characteristic point moving relatively with the camera motion by a camera motion determination part 16.
