PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning machine spindle which is used for receiving a yarn, whose cover is improved, and which especially enables a simple access to a spinning site on spinning start, doffing or yarn breakage, and can keep energy loss based on flow resistance at the spindle as little as possible. SOLUTION: A bearing is formed as a bearing sleeve (3) disposed between a driving member and a receiving region (9). A shaft (4), a bearing sleeve (3) and, if necessary, a driving device (5) are longitudinally extended and formed so that a cover member (10) can be slid on at least one portion of the bearing sleeve (3) along the shaft (4) in the axial direction, and, if necessary, can further be slid on the driving device (5) and the driving member.
