<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary door device having further high safety with a simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: This rotary door device has a movable door 12 movable along a circular arc surface 5 of a stationary side wall 6. When a person and an object are nipped between a door panel 4 rotatingly driven by a motor 3 and a doorway defining vertical edge part 13 of the movable door 12, the doorway defining vertical edge part 13 is pushed in the direction along the rotational direction of the door panel 4 by its person and object, and the movable door 12 moves along the circular arc surface 5. A detecting means 14 detects this movement, and the motor 3 is stopped by a control device 15.
