PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent noise from being periodically generated on a liquid crystal panel by a high voltage applied to a light source device. SOLUTION: A backlight is provided at the back side of the liquid crystal display panel. In the backlight including a plurality of cold cathode tubes, light is generated by applying a direct current high voltage intermittently to each cold cathode tube, and the liquid crystal display panel 20 is irradiated with the light. In the liquid crystal display panel 20, an order of supplying a gate signal to each gate line 21a is set randomly so that the gate signal may not be supplied continuously to an adjoining gate line 21a within one frame.
