PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling system of an internal combustion engine capable of securing expected performance in an inside passage having high significance, even if a width dimension of a water jacket varies in the reducing direction. SOLUTION: In this invention, a projecting part 16 for maintaining a passage width of the inside passage 12 in a predetermined quantity, is formed on an inner surface of a spacer 10. Thus, even if the width dimension of the water jacket 7 reduces in a process of forming the water jacket 17, since the passage width is maintained by the projecting part 16 in the inside passage 12, required expected performance for bringing about the temperature distribution of desired cylinder liners 2a to 2d, is secured as it is.
