<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of automatically recognizing the sleep state of a person without putting a sensor on a human body in a sleep state detecting device and system and in a control device and system for an air conditioner, lighting equipment, acoustic equipment and the like equipped therewith and to provide a method of controlling to drive/stop the air conditioner, the lighting equipment, the acoustic equipment and the like using the detecting function. <P>SOLUTION: This detecting device and system emit electric waves to the human body, catch reflected waves affected by the body pulsation by the respiration of the person, analyze reflected wave data and detect the sleep state.
