<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver and which enables time information not to be cleared even if power is interrupted and therefore enables clock display when no external time information is obtained at the reapplication of power, a clock display method. <P>SOLUTION: A digital television broadcast receiver 11 includes: a function of using antennas 43, 48 and tuners 45, 50 to select and receive digital broadcast; and a function capable of being connected to an external apparatus through various interfaces, a control section 56 carries out the entire control, a self-running timer section 71 carries out time setting, and a time can be updated on the basis of the time information included in a digital broadcast or the like and the user setting.
