PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide color photographic photosensitive material satisfying both of excellent suitability to rapid processing and image preservability, and a method of image forming. SOLUTION: In the silver halide color photographic photosensitive material, at least one of dye forming couplers is a dye forming coupler capable of forming an azomethine dye whose solubility in ethyl acetate is in the range of 1×10<SP>-8</SP>-5×10<SP>-3</SP>mol/l by reaction with the oxidized body of an aromatic primary amine compound, and the silver halide color photographic photosensitive material satisfies at least one of the following conditions; (a) among photosensitive silver halide emulsion layers respectively containing the three dye forming couplers, any emulsion layer except a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer present in a position remotest from a support contains the dye forming coupler capable of forming the azomethine dye, (b) a non-photosensitive hydrophilic colloid layer is a non-photosensitive color developing layer containing a dye forming coupler and the non-photosensitive color developing layer is adjacent to at least one dye forming coupler-containing photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer.
