PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silencer for a vehicle capable of preventing deformation of both shells by communicating a section betweeen the both shells with the outside while suppressing large leakage of exhaust gas. SOLUTION: An outer shell 2a and an inner shell 2b are formed by winding a metallic plate in a multiple manner into a cylindrical shape. Opening fringe parts of both shells 2a, 2b and end plates 3a, 3b are welded over the whole periphery except a predetermined section 2d to form a first welded part X. Both shells 2a, 2b and the end plates 3a, 3b are welded in the peripheral direction so as to overlap the predetermined section 2d at a position where it is off-set in the axial direction from the first welded part X to form a second welded part Y. The first and second welded parts X, Y form a labyrinth structure to communicate the section between both shells 2a and 2b with the outside through the predetermined section 2d.
