A metal jacket 11 formed of rolled sheet, the edges of which do not overlap, is compressed against the lower end of the sheath 9 by a metal ring 10 of L-section which is subjected to crimping or constriction. The upper end of the sheath 9 may be slotted at 13, 14 to receive the top of the zinc can 5 and flange 15 of a-metal cover 16 and the top of the jacket 11 maybe constrained against the sheath by an L-section metal ring 12. In a modification (Fig. 1, not shown) the ring 12 is omitted and the upper edge of the jacket 11 is turned over the top of the sheath 9.
