<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition which can form high-quality images without blotting and beading and excels in image preservability, particularly gas resistance (ozone resistance), particularly preferably an inkjet recording cyan ink, and an inkjet recording method. <P>SOLUTION: The ink composition comprises at least a coloring agent having an oxidation potential of more electropositive of 1.0 V (vs SCE), water, a guanidine compound, and an antiseptic agent.
