PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical pencil which has no fear about the rocking of a lead guide 5, even in case it is repeatedly used for a long time, and is free from the breakage of a mouthpiece 1 made of a synthetic resin or generation of cracks, even in case the rear part 5F of the lead guide 5 made of a metal is fixedly forced into the mouthpiece 1. SOLUTION: In this mechanical pencil, a plurality of ribs 1A extending longitudinally are formed on the inner surface of the mouthpiece 1 made of a synthetic resin, and the rear part 5F of the lead guide 5 inserted from the forward end of the mouthpiece 1, is fixedly forced into the ribs 1A of the mouthpiece 1.
