<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag, and an air bag device, capable of inflating a left half air bag and a right half air bag sufficiently quickly even with an inflator of a small capacity, and preventing them from interfering with an A pillar or the the like. <P>SOLUTION: This air bag 10 comprises the right half air bag 12, the left half air bag 14, a communication part 16 to communicate base ends of the right half air bag 12 and the left half air bag 14 to each other, and belt straps 70 connecting a right and a left side surfaces in the right half air bag 12 to each other, and a left and a right side surfaces in the left air bag 14 to each other respectively. The belt strap 70 in the bag 14 on the vehicle body side is connected to an upper part of a vehicle body side panel 28. Total height of a vertical cross section of the air bag 14 in the bag width direction passing the belt strap 70 at completion of inflation is H, height of a connection part for the belt strap 70 to the vehicle body side panel 24 in the vertical cross section is H<SB>1</SB>, and height of the connection part for the belt strap 70 to the opposite side panel 28 at the vertical cross surface from the lowest part is H<SB>2</SB>, then H<SB>1</SB>is in the range of 0.4H-0.8H, H<SB>2</SB>is in the range of 0.3H-0.6H, and H<SB>1</SB>>H<SB>2</SB>is satisfied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
