<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information provision system for calculating the spare time of a user without bothering a user, and for presenting information corresponding to the spare time to the user. <P>SOLUTION: A user puts a portable telephone 200 over an automatic ticket examining machine 300 in order to take a train. When ticket data existing in a storage region, an IC chip 210 reads the ticket data, and when any ticket data do not exist, the IC chip 210 reads schedule data or season ticket data, and transmits the data through the automatic ticket examining machine 300 to a computer 100. The computer 100 receives the data from the portable telephone 200, and calculates the spare time of the user, and reads the list of services to be received in the spare time by performing access to a storage part 110, and transmits it through network to the portable telephone 200.
