<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-voltage driver circuit capable of suppressing heat generation during regeneration operation in a sustain mode. <P>SOLUTION: The high-voltage driver circuit comprises an output circuit 61 of a half-bridge configuration for operating by power supply from a high-voltage power source 1, a level shift circuit 4 for supplying a control signal to a high-side transistor 2, constituting the output circuit 61, and a predriver circuit 5 for driving the level shift circuit 4 and a low-side transistor 3. A high breakdown voltage diode 8, having a small forward direction diode voltage, is provided in parallel with the high-side transistor 2 constituting the output circuit 61.
