PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which prevents opposite electrodes from short-circuiting, a manufacturing method for the liquid crystal display device, and electronic equipment. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device having a liquid crystal material sandwiched between a couple of substrates, has, on one of the couple of substrates; electric wiring; pixel electrodes connected to the electric lines through switching elements; an inter-layer insulating film formed between the electric lines, and switching elements and pixel electrodes; a coating layer formed on the pixel electrodes; and an alignment film formed on the coating layer. The inter-layer insulating film has a contact hole for connecting the switching elements and pixel electrodes, and also has a curvature part formed at an upper end of a wall surface of the contact hole.
