PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor capable of preventing members arranged abutting on surroundings of the photoreceptor from being damaged and peeled off and obtaining an image having excellent image quality stably over a long period of time, and to provide an image forming apparatus provided with the electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The eletrophotographic photoreceptor is utilized in the image forming apparatus mainly constituted of the electrophotographic photoreceptor, a conductive member used as a charging means, a power supply, an image input device used as an exposure means, a developing device, a transfer member and a primary transfer member used as a transfer means, a cleaning device and a fixing device and performs a low friction processing such as forming the most surface layer consisting of diamond-like carbon and the most surface layer made of flexible diamond-like carbon or tetrahedron coupling amorphous carbon is performed also to the external perimeter of the photoelectric photoreceptor.
