PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize structure to faciliate part control and assembly work and structure free to effectively absorb impact energy at the time of secondary collision. SOLUTION: A supported bracket 5 and an energy absorbing member 19 to be fixed on a steering column 2 are integrally made of one metallic sheet. Width of this energy absorbing member 19 becomes larger backward. Displacement of the steering column forward is allowed while handling the energy absorbing member 19 by a pair of support plate parts 4a, 4a constituting a support bracket 3a at the time of secondary collision. |
