The mechanism is immersed in oil up to a level 16. The piston 8 is axially slidable on the push rod 7 between a shoulder and a ring 9 secured to the push rod by a circlip 10. As the push rod moves downwards, oil is drawn through three ports 11 in the piston 8 into the cylinder. When the push rod moves upwards, the piston seats on the ring 9 to close the ports 11 so that oil is forced to the bearing via bores 13, 12, 14 and a groove 15.</p> |
