A glass paste containing an inorganic oxide glass powder and an organic component, characterized in that said glass paste contains the foreign substance having an outer size of 10 mum or more in an amount of 30 pieces/100 g or less. The glass paste can be used for preventing the reliability of a gas-tight sealing from being lost due to the generation of a gas form a foreign substance during firing.
