<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a still image that is easy to see by the user in the case of reproducing video data of the interlace system from a recording medium. SOLUTION: A progressive frame of a picture header in a format of the MPEG2 denotes whether a video source of recorded main video data is an interlace source or a non-interlace source. A controller of a reproduction device of a recording medium selects a frame pose where a still image is displayed in the unit of frames or a field pose where a still image is displayed in the unit of fields by detecting information of the progressive frame from a video decoder. Thus, in the automatic mode, when the progressive frame denotes '0', a still image of one field is displayed and when the progressive frame denotes '1', a still image of one frame is displayed.</p> |
