<p>Self-adhesive tape with expanded hollow microspheres (II) in the base tape (B) is made by adding unexpanded (II) to the components of (B) in a mixer, expanding (II), forming the mixture as tape and then coating on one or both sides with pressure-sensitive adhesive. A method (M1) for the production of self-adhesive tape (I) with a pressure-sensitive adhesive (A) on one or both sides of a base layer (B) containing 1-98 (preferably 30-70) vol% expanded hollow microspheres (II), involves mixing the components of (B) in a mixer, adding unexpanded (II), expanding (II), optionally transferring the mixture to a feeder system, forming the mixture in a shaping machine and coating the resulting base layer (B) on one or both sides with (A). An independent claim is also included for a method (M2) for the production of (I) in which the procedure is as described in M1 except that the microspheres (II) are expanded after the mixture is transferred to a feeder system.</p> |
