<p>Therapeutic compsns. for clearing and disinfecting dental canals comprising perchloric acid and its physiologically-acceptable salts. HClO4 and salts combine both activities, hitherto a clearing agent such as sodium edetate followed by a disinfectant such as formalin has been used. The HClO4 may be used alone, pref. at concns. of 0.1-10N opt. in the presence of compatible adjuvants. Prefd. salts are alkali and alkaline earth metal salts. The acid may be injected into the dental canal then neutralised after a few secs. pref. to pH 9.</p> |
