Above the rollers is a pneumatic ram (9) that can be moved vertically. On each side of the rollers is a centering roll holder (29) comprising two centering rolls (30) and a hollow injection needle (31). The needles are connected to a compressor (101). A transverse cutter (11) is mounted between the rollers and the first conveyor belt and has a blade for slitting the front side of the casing at half height. On each side of the first conveyor belt is a longitudinal cutter (13) with a blade for slitting the long sides of the casing at half height. Above the first conveyor belt is a first swivel arm (15) with a pneumatic gripper (17) for gripping the casing above the cut of the transverse cutter. Beneath the first conveyor belt is a second swivel arm (20) with a series of pins (23) that can engage with the casing beneath the cut of the transverse cutter. After injecting air through the needles, the ram forces the injected air around the sides of the block of cheese to facilitate transverse and longitudinal cutting before the swivel arms are actuated to separate the cut parts of the casing.</p> |
