A peptide derived from HIV-1 regulatory protein comprising at least one amino acid sequence which contains modifications compared with the native sequence; an antigen comprising at least one of the peptides; a vaccine comprising the antigen; antibodies capable of selectively reacting with the antigen; and a method for detecting the antibodies.
